Membership

 Qualifications

To be eligible for services from our Society, you must be a member.

Permanent residents of households on Gabriola Island and Mudge Island and seasonal residents who are property owners on Gabriola Island and Mudge Island are eligible for membership in the Society. The base Membership fee is based on up to two adults and any children under nineteen (19) living in the same household as permanent residents, and must be listed on the membership application.

Additional family members who are nineteen (19) or older, and fall into the criteria above, may be included on the application to the Society and are subject to an additional fee as set by the Board from time to time.

Seasonal residents are subject to the same qualifications. Co-owners or joint owners of a residence who are from two different families would be subject to separate applications and fees

Current Rates

The current annual membership fee is $40 (plus $5 for each additional family member nineteen (19) years of age and older). The annual membership fee covers members for the calendar year and is due by January 2nd of each year. New memberships are accepted anytime throughout the year, but the amount is not pro-rated.

The Gabriola Ambulance Society sets its annual membership fee strictly to cover the cost of providing the three core services we offer our members: reimbursement of ambulance user fees, equipment loans, and home assistance. This fee may rise to reflect any increases in the underlying costs of these services.
